AI news moves fast. Most of it is not actionable for builders.

Here’s the filter I use before something makes it onto the channel or this journal:

Signal checklist

  1. Does it change what I can ship this month? New APIs, cheaper inference, better evals — yes. Vague roadmap rumors — no.
  2. Is it reproducible? Demos without numbers or open weights get a lower priority than papers + code + benchmarks you can re-run.
  3. Who is the real user? Enterprise hype vs. indie-builder utility are different stories.
